MC
Multi Combination (MC class) is the highest ranking class out of the five categories for heavy vehicles licence. Heavy vehicles include all motor vehicles over 4.5 tonnes. MC class pertains to any heavy combination of one or more trailers, each with generally over 9,000 kg in Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) but the vehicle assessment may vary slightly based on the state.
MC class licence allows you to drive all motor vehicles or combinations including all other categories of heavy vehicles, B doubles, and road trains but excluding motorcycles. This licence is generally required for interstate/intrastate driving, linehaul driving, and refrigerated transport.
Heavy vehicle licencing is administered by state and territory road authorities and thus licence eligibility requirements per state often vary.
